Natural Surroundings records nature on the boundary of the urban environment. The scenes are not remote, rather they exist on the fringe of urbanization along the roadside, in protected parks, or within city limits. For me, knowing the locations are nearby, the images form a psychological bridge with the distant pristine natural environment.
